Nokia hangs on to the top spot in the list of mobile manufacturers for a reason. Every product produced and released is first subjected to meticulous research. All functionalities that have to be incorporated should be well – thought out before the design goes to fruition.

One of the products of this thorough research is the N95, which debuted in the market in September 2006. Since then it has been one of the most in demand mobile phones. What makes this smart phone so popular? Well, just like most Nokia phones, it has a user – friendly messaging system. You can send SMS, MMS and e-mail and can use the predictive messaging feature to connect with anybody in any part of the globe.

N95 boasts of an innovative two – way slider design. You can slide the front cover up to access the alphanumeric pad and slide it down to uncover the media player controls. But what makes this handset high – end are its 5 megapixel camera, an integrated GPS module, and its well – built media player with a 3.5mm jack connector for earphones.

Its excellent imaging is probably one of the best features of this smart phone. Images captured using the phone have vibrant colors and feel almost alive. Just like an actual digital camera, the settings can be customized depending on the user’s taste and the situation –- close – up portrait and night mode are just some of the options. The brightness, contrast and color tones can also be adjusted in order to capture the perfect image. Videos can also be recorded up to a certain length of time. Editing options for both pictures and videos are available.

Aside from videos, N95 can also play music and supports audio and video formats such as MP3, WMA, W4A, AAC and AAC+. Earphones can be plugged into the 3.5 mm ear jack for an enhanced listening experience.

Several wireless features are available such as GPS receiver, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and an infrared port. Probably the downside of such a trendy phone is it does not work on the United States’ 3G network. This is a setback considering that N95 is considered advanced and most people would expect it to have 3G support.

N95 has about 150 MB of internal memory but it can support up to 2GB of expandable media. It has four hours of talk time and up to nine hours of standby time. However, because this phone boasts of its multimedia capacities, the use of such features takes a toll on the battery life of the phone and the battery can be drained only after a day of continually using multimedia features.

As a whole, the pros certainly outweigh the cons and owning this trendy smart phone would certainly bring its user prolonged delight.
